A family story
I was a little boy passionate about small-scale livestock farming: small birds, rabbits, pigeons, chickens... It was my whole life.
Around the age of 13, I became acquainted with horses, and it was a real revelation.
While horse riding was my first priority, the breeding side of things soon followed, a logical continuation of my childhood passions.
Never for a second did I imagine or desire to become a major European breeder or a prominent stallion owner.
Not coming from the industry, my only goal was to improve every day.
The hardest part of this journey was sorting out the bad advice from the good, and overcoming the stupid beliefs that are pervasive in the horse world, which are stubborn and have survived for decades.
Only observation and common sense allow you to find the right path in this profession.
And then Providence placed the exceptional GUTE SITTE in my path, who gave my project a whole new dimension. I am deeply indebted to this great lady!
Over the decades, I've worked tirelessly to test breeding females in order to keep only those females that were even better than their mothers. But I deserve no credit for this, as the work was never difficult; in fact, it was a joy every day.
My son Nicolas followed in my footsteps and shows as much passion for breeding as I do. My grandson, Arthur, 7, is a fanatic about foals and has proven to be my best collaborator.
At the end of 2023, we learned that our breeding operation was ranked 30th in the world and that we were 17th in the ranking of breeding stallion producers. This news surprised and delighted me.
But I am still, and will always remain, the little boy with a passion for breeding.
